For my product design to make a camera out of Arizona tea cans. I chose this design because I thought it would challenge me. To make the camera I cut the top and bottom off then cut down the nutrition facts. i then started gluing the pieces of the can together into a rectangle form. After that I took the left over pieces of can and glued them to the top and bottom. Then I glued the top of the can to the side to look like a lens. Finally I took the can tab and glued it to the top to look like the button.
The design I chose for print making was the Avengers symbol. At first this was a complicated design because Mrs. Meyer said to try to stay away from circles and letters, mine included both. The process of cutting out the design on the linoleum block print was complicated but it soon got easier. after i cut put the design we had to choose one or two colors; I chose blue and red. After we chose the colors we had to roll the first color out on a tray with a brayer (roller). We then rolled the first color over the linoleum and pressed it down the the paper. We did several of these. After the first color I cut out part of the design and started on the other color and printed several of those. I chose this mirror pose because it allowed me to include the viola and clarinet in my hand. Some obstacles i came over with using sketch book were drawing on the wrong layer. Some things that I share with my reflection is that I currently can play those instruments but I plan to excel in playing those instruments and i hope my future career will include some type of music.
I chose tor recreated the picture below. I decided to scamper it by taking some of the elements of the picture out like the AD and I changed the fifth finger. I also changed the color. In my project I decided to put lyrics of a song behind the hands. the song I chose was "Greater" by mercyme. I enjoyed doing this project because we got more freedom of what we wanted to draw. Doug Reynolds is a potter that makes pottery and other pieces of art. His studio is located in Waverly, IA where he makes pottery and teaches students. He also sells his at at Art in The Park. I enjoyed learning about Doug Reynolds because I learned a lot about the different tools used to make pottery and designs on the pot. The video that i watched was full of great information about pottery and Doug Reynolds him self.
I learned a lot from this artist research project. Before i did his project I never even knew some of these amazing artists existed. I really enjoyed researching Bridget Riley and researching her art work because her art really challenges the eye and the mind and it makes you look at art from a totally different perspective I was most proud of how much information i found. It was really fun to present and to watch others presentations because i learned a lot about famous artists. I even learned a lot more about artist i had already heard of. I think this was a great experience for me and the class.
